Boundless Networks & Networx3 bring Gigabit Britain to Haslingden

Matt Wiles • Jul 05, 2018
Boundless Networks has joined forces with Great Harwood-based Networx3 to deliver full fibre broadband to businesses in Haslingden.

The Courtyard business site on Grane Road, Haslingden, has long suffered from issues with broadband with the main providers like BT and Virgin being unable to provide services that meet the requirements of the current broadband market let alone for the next 10 years. Now all this worry is over as Boundless Networks and Networx3 have joined forces to bring 1000Mbps (1 Gigabit) broadband to all the businesses.
The network has received funding support from the Government’s Gigabit Voucher Scheme, which allows registered suppliers to work with businesses to unlock funding to help deliver full fibre broadband capable of speeds ranging from 100Mbps to 1000Mbps or 1 Gigabit. With only 3% of UK premises having access to this sort of broadband technology it really has put the Courtyard onto the broadband map and means businesses can use the power of broadband and the internet even more to deliver and expand their businesses
John Young, Managing Director of the JY Group based as the site, said: “Before the arrival of this network we had to struggle and be creative to get broadband into the office. We used dongles, phones and all sorts just to try and get useable broadband. Now we have a 100Mbps FttP connection we can do everything we need to and more! This connection means that all our broadband needs are now covered and we can get on with our day-to-day business.”

Caroline Earnshaw, Commercial Director at Networx3, said: “Networx3 are experts at delivering large scale solutions in the telecoms industry. Working with Boundless to deliver this full fibre network right on our doorstep demonstrates our commitment to bringing the best available broadband infrastructure to areas that need it. Grane Road has been an exciting venture, nurturing our passion for local people and businesses. We are very proud of our team and their efforts in supporting such a refreshing project and in addition to this we are proud to have the relationship we have with Boundless Networks.”

The Gigabit Voucher Scheme, an initiative operated by the Department for Culture, Digital, Media and Sport, demonstrates a £67 million investment in faster internet connections and was announced by the Chancellor Philip Hammond in March 2018.
The Nationwide Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme (GBVS) provides vouchers worth up to £3,000 for a small or medium sized business or £500 to residents to help with the costs of connecting to full fibre broadband.
The scheme is part of a wider government plan to get more homes and businesses connected to full fibre broadband. It builds on the £200 million Local Full Fibre Networks programme which gives funding to local areas to boost full fibre delivery. £95 million of this funding was allocated at Spring Statement to 13 successful bidders across the UK.

Boundless Networks has one of the largest network coverage footprints of any alternative technology provider in the country, with coverage of over 3,500 square miles with approximately 4,000 customers and operates a private national fibre network from its data centres in Manchester and Leeds

Business packages start from just £65 per month and residential packages from £20.99.
